Hours of operation
New Hours - Beginning June 1, 2008, American Citizen Services will be open to the public 8:30am-12noon. For emergencies after hours, please contact the Embassy at +92-51-208-0000.
Citizens in distress may call the Embassy twenty-four hours a day and will receive immediate assistance.
The Embassy is closed to the public on American and Pakistani holidays.
Visiting the Embassy
When visiting the Consular Section, you must take the Diplomatic Shuttle. It is located at Third Avenue near Quaid-e-Azam University Road, G-5 Islamabad. The Diplomatic Shuttle will transport you from the Diplomatic Shuttle Service Center to the Consular Section for a small fee. Please ensure that you have some kind of identification with you, preferably your U.S passport. Other forms of identification may also be acceptable. If you need emergency service or have lost your passport, please inform security at the Diplomatic Shuttle Service Center of this and state that you are an American Citizen.
Everyone entering the U.S. Embassy is subject to search. No luggage, electronic or photographic equipment is permitted in our waiting room or on Embassy premises.
