Follow-Up Message to U.S. Citizens in Pakistan

The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad is alerting all U.S. citizens residing in Pakistan that non-official vehicle movements of U.S. Government employees in Islamabad will be restricted to the Islamabad city limits for the duration of the upcoming Muharram holiday. These restrictions will take effect on December 2 and will remain in effect through the evening of December 6. In addition, all non-official vehicle movements within Islamabad will be prohibited on Friday, December 2, from 12:00-18:00. The U.S. Embassy urges all U.S. citizens to remain alert, avoid crowds and demonstrations, keep a low profile, and limit unnecessary travel. Verify that travel documents and visas remain valid.
