  • U.S. Helps Preserve Pakistan's Rich Cultural Heritage

    U.S. Ambassador Cameron Munter inaugurated a photo exhibition highlighting ten years of U.S. support for the preservation of Pakistani heritage and antiquities through the Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation today at the Pakistan National Council for Arts. The photo exhibit is open to the public through February 20.

    The U.S. funded Tank-Makin road in the South Waziristan Agency (SWA) was inaugurated today in Jandola by the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Secretariat and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO). The 110 kilometer road is part of the FATA Secretariat’s Quick Impact Project in the SWA.

    U.S. Ambassador Cameron P. Munter, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Marilyn Wyatt, and U.S. Consul General William Martin, visited Larkana and Sukkur in Sindh Province today to visit cultural landmarks and learn more about efforts to preserve such sites. Ambassador Munter toured the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mohenjo-Daro, where he also met with local government officials. 

  • New Crop of Agriculture Students Pursue University Degrees, Thanks to U.S. Scholarships

    Forty-one students are pursuing advanced degrees at the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University in Rawalpindi, thanks to need-based scholarships from the U.S. government. Dr. Marilyn Wyatt, wife of U.S. Ambassador Cameron Munter, met with the scholarship students on Monday to celebrate their academic achievement and discuss their progress.
