Congratulations, your visa is approved!
After an applicant's visa interview, if the visa is to be issued, the consular officer retains the applicant's passport and documents.
Once the visa is issued, the passport wit h the immigrant visa and a sealed envelope with documents will be sent to the Embassy authorized courier office .The courier office will call the applicant when the visa and packet are ready to be picked-up.

The sealed visa packet contains the documents the applicant will need in order to request permission to enter the U.S., and should not be opened by the visa applicant. Only the U.S. Immigration Officer at the port of entry is authorized to open the visa packet.
Please note the time between approval of a visa and pick-up of the authorized visa and visa packet is usually around two weeks. This process cannot be expedited.
Once received, the visa and accompanying packet can be used to travel to a U.S. port of entry on or before the expiration date in the visa.
What if my passport and packet do not arrive?
If an applicant has not received their passport and sealed envelope after two weeks of being informed of approval of the visa, the applicant should call the nearest courier office, or send an email to the Immigrant Visa Unit using this hyperlink: Immigrant Visa Unit Inquiries
What if I am found temporarily ineligible for an immigrant visa?
If the applicant is found temporarily ineligible and needs to send documents additional to the Consulate, the applicant needs to send the documents using the closest courier service. The required documents and the letter detailing what is missing have to be mailed together.
If the applicant has misplaced the refusal letter, they need to send the documents with their name and visa case number clearly spelled out (normally ISL followed by 10 numbers). These documents can be sent using the courier service nearest to them: Courier Service
What if the petitioner needs to send documents from the U.S.?
If the petitioner sends documents from the U.S. to the Consulate, they need to include the case number, name of the applicant, and a short description of what is being sent. The petitioner can send the required documents using FedEx, UPS, or DHL, and the documents can be sent to:
