Khabr-o-Nazar’s Current Issue Highlights Role Of Information Resource Centers, Lincoln Corners
09/24/2007Islamabad – The latest issue of the U.S. Embassy’s new-look monthly magazine, “Khabr-o-Nazar” (News and Views), features the role of American Information Resource Centers (IRCs) and the Lincoln Corners in Pakistan, the U.S. Embassy announced today.
“IRCs and Lincoln Corners in Pakistan are forums where Americans can interact with local people and discuss issues of common interest,” Mary Nell Bryant, Information Resource Officer for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Central Asia, said in her interview to the magazine. “It is not only a way to advertise America but really a way to come to understanding with other people through discussions, talks, and seminars.”
The September issue also highlights Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson’s first trip to Lahore, where she visited the historical Badshahi mosque and a girl madressah in Lahore and participated in the inauguration of the new Parliamentary Resource Center at the Punjab Assembly.
The current issue also highlights various activities of USAID and the three U.S. consulates in Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi.
The popular monthly magazine, “Khabr-o-Nazar” (News and Views), considered to be "Pakistan's window to America," is also available online at the U.S. Embassy's website. To access it, readers can click on: http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/pakistan/khabr_o_nazar.html
