01/30/2008

Islamabad – The latest issue of the U.S. Embassy’s monthly magazine, “Khabr-o-Nazar” (News and Views), features condolence and sympathy with the people of Pakistan extended by the U.S. officials over the tragic demise of the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, the U.S. Embassy announced today.

“We stand with the people of Pakistan in their struggle against the forces of terror and extremism,” U.S. President George W. Bush stated in a condolence message to the people of Pakistan. “We urge them to honor Benazir Bhutto’s memory by continuing with the democratic process for which she so bravely gave her life.”

The latest issue of the magazine also highlights the U.S. Ambassador’s reception in honor of the Pakistani and foreign journalists based in Islamabad.

The current issue also highlights various activities in health and education sectors of USAID and the U.S. consulates in Lahore and Karachi.

The popular monthly magazine “Khabr-o-Nazar” (News and Views), considered to be "Pakistan's window to America," is also available online at the U.S. Embassy's website.
