Karachi – The U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, Anne W. Patterson, met with the MQM leadership in Azizabad here today and expressed US government’s resolve to “interact and consult with all democratic forces” of the country.
“The United States is committed to cooperate with the newly installed elected government on a wide range of issues that are important to both countries,” Ambassador Patterson told the MQM leadership present at the Khurshid Memorial Hall. On arrival the American Ambassador and the Consul General were received by MQM’s parliamentary leader and MNA Dr. Farooq Sattar and other prominent MQM leaders.

The American Ambassador noted that the vibrant port city of Karachi is one of the world’s largest metropolitan areas and a key trading hub in the global economy. She emphasized the importance of security and the continuing political reconciliation among all political elements in the city.
