Eid-ul-Azha Greetings from U.S. Ambassador Anne W. Patterson

December 8, 2008

Islamabad - The following is a statement from U.S. Ambassador Anne W. Patterson to the people of Pakistan on Eid-ul-Azha:

"I want to extend our sincere greetings to the people of Pakistan as they join their Muslim brethren around the world to commemorate Eid-ul-Azha.  This is a time when Muslims not only celebrate with family and friends but also mark the occasion with special acts of charity and compassion.

America is blessed to have people of many faiths contributing to the rich diversity of the country. Through generosity, goodwill, and a commitment to faith, Muslim Americans have helped to make our country stronger. We treasure our ties with many Muslim friends, including Pakistan.

My warmest wishes to all of you for a joyous and peaceful celebration. Eid Mubarak!"
