U.S. Embassy Rejects Media Allegations Regarding Arms Warehouse in Islamabad

Islamabad - The U.S. Embassy today rejected media allegations in a media report that claimed that a warehouse in Islamabad being used by a private American security contractor "was importing heavy arms as well as ammunition for the U.S. company for its ongoing illicit operations in Pakistan."  At no time was the U.S. Embassy contacted to comment on this media report before it was published.

The Embassy provides the following points to correct the record:

Kestral Logistics is a private logistics company that handles the importation of equipment and supplies provided by the United States to the Government of Pakistan. All of the equipment and supplies were imported at the request of the Government of Pakistan, which also certified the shipments.
