Lawyers Sharpen Prosecution Skills

Lahore - Thirty-five prosecutors from the Punjab participated in a week-long workshop on trial advocacy skills this week sponsored by the Punjab Prosecution Department and the U.S. Department of Justice.
The participants in the course worked together to sharpen their skills related to preparing and organizing cases, interacting with the police, examining witnesses, handling evidence, presenting forensic evidence, and delivering opening statements and closing arguments.
Speaking at the closing ceremony U.S. Consul General Carmela Conroy praised the group, noting "The Punjab Public Prosecution Department has shown leadership for the country in its efforts to professionalize the nation's prosecutor corps."
The U.S. team participating in the workshop included U.S. Federal District Court judge David Carter of California and a group of U.S. federal prosecutors well-versed in trial advocacy.
